I wanted to share with those who follow this blog an opportunity to check out a resource you may or may not have seen before.
In this day and age of everything electronic, getting kids to pick up a book, let alone a Bible can be a major challenge. I do believe that this is version that can help kids fall in love with God’s word for the first time or all over again.
From its kid-friendly graphics to its kid friendly footnotes, this Bible is in its truest forms a solid translation from the original Greek and Hebrew. This is not a paraphrase or a simple story bible. This is truly a tool for discipleship.
Here are some fact taken from an ICB brochure:
The ICB Bible is the first version translated specifically for kids.
Comprehension of the ICB requires only a third-grade reading level.
More that 21 trusted scholars and translators were involved in creating the ICB.
The ICB is a dynamic equivalent (thought-for-thought) translation of the Bible.
ICB has more that 300 Key Bible Verses highlighted in the text so that children and Christians can read and learn from.
So in this brief little review, I can see that this would be a fantastic resource for churches to use as a gift for parents to put in the hands of their children.
It’s truly a sweet way to present God’s word. The format is so simple from Bold Title headings to highlighted key verses, everything is here for a child to engage in growing in the knowledge and truth.
I highly recommend the ICB Children’s Bible and hope you will check it out for yourself!
If you’d like a chance to win a copy, you can reply to this post and I’m going to give one a way in a random drawing! So comment what is your favorite verse and why is it so meaningful?
